Our Board


Timothy McLellan

Tim McLellan is a consultant and coach for more then 20 years to leaders across multiple industries and geographies in Canada, United States and Mexico. He has himself been a senior executive in national and international organizations (public/non-profit/private). The essence of his company is empowering people and companies to excel through the harmonization of people, process and technology.   In addition to his 20 years of engaging clients to excel, Tim has earned his Bachelors of Engineering and Business Administration from the University of Ottawa. He has also earned his Executive Management from the Rotman School of Business in Toronto, specialization in Human Resources, along with a designation in Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Change Management, Six Sigma and Mediation.  He has acted as an advisor to the Rotman School of Business for the development and initiation of their Executive Leadership Program.  As a professional trainer and coach, he has been a frequent speaker/instructor for the healthcare and automotive sectors, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Ministry of Labour, University of Toronto, City Municipalities and various associations.

Elena Simonetta
Vice Chair

Elena grew up in the Humewood Neighborhood. She owns and operates Salon1065 in Regal Heights Village for the past 25 years. She is a hairdresser, makeup artist and brow specialist. When not in the salon, she enjoys many fitness places along St Clair Ave. She trains in martial arts and power walks the neighborhood regularly. She remains in this neighborhood because it is easy to access all of her daily needs. She recognizes many of the business owners’ parishioners of the churches and residents. She has served on the Business Improvement Association for Regal Heights Village. She attends many fundraisers for the community and church. The local independent shops offer a real community feel, warm and welcoming as does her salon. A usual day will include someone stopping in to say hello, bringing a coffee and a smile.  Salon1065’s motto is “Make it a great hair day”. Her motto is “How can I help?” The very reason she is serving as a board member for Humewood House.

Ioana Cazacu

Ioana Cazacu has spent her last two decades playing different roles from economist and accountant to fitness trainer and teacher. Regardless of the role, Ioana is passionate about helping and empowering others. She is currently working as staff accountant at a well established Toronto public accounting firm and she is pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. She believes that people need to help each other, and she appreciates Humewood House’s commitment to care for young mothers and their children. Ioana intends to bring her financial and organizational knowledge to the Board of Humewood House.


Andrew Vaughan

Andrew Vaughan is an experienced criminal lawyer in the GTA who is on the Legal Aid Ontario Extremely Serious Criminal Matters Panel. He graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts, then from Queen’s University with a Law Degree. Andrew lends his well-rounded legal expertise, advocacy skills and a passion for the empowerment of underprivileged young people to the Humewood House Board. Andrew believes that Humewood House can continue to drive significant transformation in the lives of young women, who are often survivors of homelessness, neglect, and abuse.

Hana Tasic

Hana Tasic holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Toronto. Presently, she works in global public health research with a focus on maternal and child health. She engages in various research activities including conducting quantitative analyses, literature, policy and program reviews, as well as dissemination of results through written reports, manuscripts, and oral presentations. Hana has a particular interest in the social determinants of health and how they relate to the prevention of disease. She has a great appreciation of Humewood House’s approach to caring for young mothers on a variety of fronts including social support, housing, healthcare, food, and education. Hana intends to bring her knowledge, skills, and compassion to this important organization.

Jalpa Patel

Jalpa Patel is an accountant; and holds a Senior Manager, Finance and Administration position at a non-for-profit company in Toronto. Jalpa hopes to bring in her experience from her job to help serve on the Board especially on Finance related matters. She believes in helping people and joining the Board allows her to help Humewood House.

Manuela Morales Anderson

Manuela Morales graduated with an Honours Bachelor in Fine Arts in Photography Studies from Ryerson University. She recently obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School and is currently working towards the additional requirements for being called to the bar by the Law Society of Ontario. Manuela has a passion for advocating for women and children and therefore hopes to pursue legal work in the area of child protection. Having both lived and professional experience in the prevention of violence against women, Manuela hopes to bring her knowledge of child welfare, social services, and trauma-informed practice to Humewood House
